Phresh & Professional
As the graduation season nears an end, Phresh & Professional has a compiled a small list of commencement addresses that empower college graduates to use their degrees to not only better their lives, but the lives of others. To challenge the conventional wisdom of the baby boomer generation, and to shut up and listen when they are right. The following are a few speeches to watch and take notes and remember what it was like when you received your degree, enjoy!
Of course we’ll start with President Barack Obama’s commencement address to the men of Morehouse College in Atlanta.
Now who could possible match President Obama right? Well, maybe his former speechwriter, Jon Lovett, Co-Creator and Head Writer of the NBC sitcom, “1600 Penn” can give it a shot. Lovett uses his unique perspective on politics, humor, and communications, to give the graduates of Pitzer College (Claremont, Calif.) a few choice words.
Lastly, Comedy Central host Stephen Colbert (The Colbert Report) speech at the University of Virginia (his wife’s alma mater) gives an even more cynical approach to the new graduates as they embark on the horizons.
